Subject: [Tweeters] 'B' (bird)-rated botanical show now playing at the

Even though many of the earlier birds have flown off to other breeding grounds, others are moving through or moving in - pretty soon a "No Vacancy" sign may have to be put out, as available nesting sites are filling up. Though this set of "Mood-altering" sights are 90% plants, I just had to include a couple shots of Golden-crowned Sparrows that settled on a spill of sunflower seeds from a fallen feeder late yesterday afternoon. Gee, baiting works ! - a silver lining of the fallen, seemingly wasted seed - a giant platform feeder ! I'll try for better photos of these and some of the other woods- and yard-birds another time or six, with a better camera, camera-operator and when it isn't raining. :-)

Enjoy the show - you'll just have to imagine all the bird calls and songs that are filling up the area much of the time now, starting at about 4 a.m. and going 'til dusk.

Visitors welcome - contact me before coming over, please.
