New spring arrivals continue! This morning just east of Dungeness Landing County Park, there was a flock of 5 Lesser Yellowlegs feeding at the tideline. Their small size was emphasized by numerous Black-bellied Plovers at their side and a single Greater Yellowlegs nearby. The small, single-colored, straight bill particularly stood out as did the quiet "sweep" they gave from time to time.

Later in the morning, birding Farm Lake Rd. near Port Angeles, there was a Rough-winged Swallow feeding over the water, a Band-tailed Pigeon calling repeatedly while perched atop a conifer, and just as the walk was nearing an end, I heard a familiar sound and a FOY Cassin's Vireo appeared closely in a roadside thicket, white eye-ring and lores and yellow sides gleaming in contrast against the grey head and white underparts. An Orange-crowned Warbler pursued it and it retreated, but you could still hear it's characteristic calls.
