Subject: [Tweeters] JBLM Eagles Pride Golf Course Monthly Bird (Nature) walk

Tweeters,

Seven of us participated in a very soggy first anniversary of the Joint Base
Lewis McChord Eagles Pride Golf Course bird walk, and had several FOY birds,
most notably a singing PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER, which all of us managed to
see. Lots of ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, which were
FOY for the former and the latter of which we only had one last month. BARN
and NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS were tallied, but no Tree or Violet-green
- odd for this area. Many singing PURPLE FINCHES - even more than last year;
and the FOY EVENING GROSBEAKS were heard calling, with five seen in the
distance.

We meet the third Thursday of each month at 8:00AM. Starting point is Bldg #
1514, Driving Range Tee, Eagles Pride Golf Course, I-5 Exit 116, Mounts Road
Exit. Upcoming walks include the following:

. Sunday April 27, 2014 Note: Our 1st weekend bird walk! Meet at the
Driving Range Tee at Eagles Pride Golf Course (as above) not later than 8am.
>From there we will car pool (drivers have to have military privileges) to
NORTH FORT LEWIS for a walk along the west side of AMERICAN LAKE. (We
currently have 3 drivers, and are looking for others.)

. May 15, 2014

. June 19, 2014

. July 17, 2014
