I have been visited this week by a number of Orange-crowned Warblers. I have seen up to five at a time though usually there are two. They are here constantly and are usually on the barberry shrubs with occasional forays to the currants and other plants. This is the first year we have had so many warblers in the yard and, except for the winter, had them stay so long. I assume it is the buds in which they are interested, or possibly insects on the buds.

Anyone know whether they are particularly fond of barberries?
