I birded Fort Flagler State Park Campground/Beach this afternoon and found
a HEERMAN'S GULL across the channel to the southwest of the beach
campground. It was a very dark bird with an orange bill that was dark at
the tip. There were 11 CASPIAN TERN among the many gulls across the
channel. There was a CASPIAN TERN at the end of Discovery Bay on the mud
flats this afternoon. There was also a LESSER YELLOWLEGS there.
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS are everywhere.
