Tweeters,

Just a quick note to let you know that I had an immature Black-crowned
Night-Heron at Ridgefield NWR, Clark County this morning. It flushed form
the marshes on the south end of Rest Lake and flew east and looked to
settle somewhere in the larger trees that are in an inaccessible section of
the refuge.

Shorebirds are starting to congregate on Rest Lake now that the water level
is dropping:

Long-billed Dowitcher: 52
Greater Yellowlegs: 35
Least Sandpiper: 25
Western Sandpiper: 6
Semipalmated Sandpiper: 1

Shorebirds on South Big Lake:

Killdeer: 8
Greater Yellowlegs: 4
Lesser Yellowlegs; 2
Semipalmated Plover: 1 (flyover)
Least Sandpiper: 25
Western Sandpiper: 2
Wilson's Snipe: 2

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.

Jim
