I did a quick, whirlwindtrip to the Oceanshores and Grayland area on Friday for some shorebirds and wasn't disappointed. Oceanshores did not produce the goodies that were reported earlier this week. I couldn't find the cool, Ruff either but found some other fun birds as a nice consolation!

Here are some of the highlights:?

Elegant Terns-an adult and juvenile near the Quinault Casino (1/4 mile North) along the beach?
Pacific Golden Plovers- a trio near drier areas of the Quinault Casino, a single bird at Midway Beach
American Golden Plovers-two birds at Midway Beach?
Buff-breasted Sandpipers-at least three birds along Midway Beach
Stilt Sandpiper-two birds at Midway Beach--flushed by Peregrine several times
Long-billed Curlew and Whimbrel-near Quinault Casino in Oceanshores
Pectoral Sandpiper- two birds at Midway Beach
Snowy Plover-a dozen or so along Cranberry Beach to Midway Beach
Red Knots- a couple birds at Bottle Beach
