Unfortunately all reports are not about successes
- but still good information. Before an abortive
attempt with much company trying for the Spotted
Redshank at Jensen Access yesterday, Samantha and
I visited Rockport WA trying to relocate the
Bohemian Waxwings which she had photographed there
after her eagle float on Sunday. It was a
glorious day and worth the trip regardless but we
were not able to find any BOWA's. Sunday she had
them at Howard Miller Steelhead Park and Gary
Bletsch reported them the same day on Martin Road
- we checked there as well - great habitat but no
waxwings. Sharing this in support of the
probability that you can find them there (a ranger
said he had two earlier on Sunday) and in hopes
that this will be a good year for northern species
returning,

Our best birds at Rockport were Evening Grosbeaks
and Red Breasted Sapsuckers - gorgeous birds in
wonderful sunlight. The river is high so eagle
counts are down - but definitely present.

Best
