December greetings to all you birders. I saw my first Snowy Owl for the
season this afternoon. It was on N. Division between the Dyer Hill Rd.
and Rd. 24. We were headed north on N. Division and continued on down
Dezellem Hill Rd. The road is heavily rutted, with snow. I have not been
up or down Central Ferry Canyon Rd., but suspect the top part is snow
covered. Usually it is not plowed all the way through to N. Division, but
I don't know its status right now. The owl flew north and then west and
across Dyer Hill Rd. We were not able to relocate. Very white bird, so
possibly a male. I hope this is a sign of many more Snowy Owls this
season. Meredith Spencer, Bridgeport
