At this morning's monthly bird survey at Discovery Park, Dan Harville and I
saw one female Long-tailed Duck. We saw her from the North Beach path, east
of the ponds and a bit past the concrete steps down to the beach. This is
the first time either of us has ever seen this species at the park. There
also was one Pacific Loon in the same spot, another bird we don't see there
too often.
