Subject: [Tweeters] Merlin and Siskins Gardiner Yard on Discovery Bay

A MERLIN has been hanging around for several days. This afternoon I got
great scope views of it sitting atop a Douglas Fir. A flock of
approximately 54 PINE SISKIN were feeding on alder catkin today, but
despite seeing flocks for several weeks none have come to my feeders. The
catkin are likely a safer food choice given that siskin flocks at feeders
can create unsanitary conditions.
