Hello all,
I noticed the other day that Sno-Isle Libraries, the library system for
Snohomish and Island counties, now gives their cardholders access to
Cornell's excellent Birds of North America online database. BNA Online
contains "life histories" for around 748 species which breed in Canada and
the US (including Hawaii).

Sno-Isle library card holders can access the database here:
http://access-proxy.sno-isle.org/login?url=http://bna.birds.cornell.edu/bna/

Many of you already probably know that Seattle Public Library card holders
can also use this database by logging in through the following link:
http://bna.birds.cornell.edu.ezproxy.spl.org:2048/bna/

Those of you who don't reside in these locations may still be able to gain
free access to these resources since both allow residents in some other
locations to get library cards.

Sno-Isle gives this criteria:
"...if you live outside of the Sno-Isle Libraries District service area,
but you live in a community in Washington State that financially supports a
library of its own, you are eligible for a free Sno-Isle library card."
(You will have to visit a Sno-Isle library in person, however)

Seattle Public Library will give you a card if you have a library card from
any of the following library systems:
Everett Public Library
Kitsap Regional Library
Pierce County Library System
Puyallup Public Library
Sno-Isle Regional Library System
Timberland Regional Library
