I note this morning in the wee hours behore I leave to
start the Columbia Estuary Count the eBird Has posted the
following article...

http://ebird.org/content/ebird/news/ebirding-your-cbc/

While you can put your day lists on eBird for a Christmas count
(I did last year), you still have to fill out all the forms and lists
your compiler gives you.

Some of you might be saying "well, duh", but as a compiler, I don't want
to have an argument with that one person who says, "I already uploaded
my lists to eBird. YOU can download them from there" and I know a couple
of compilers who are likely to answer "what's eBird?"

If you do the math (and I have), less than 10% of birders (by
self-described birder population) use eBird. Compilers have a difficult
enough job getting all the paper-work now. Asking them to find a
list on their computer is not going to make them happy and I'll end
up mediating another Techie vs Luddite battle.

Yes, feel free to put your CBC data on eBird, but give you compiler a
break and fill out the hard-copy checklist, too.
