During what's turned out to be a very quiet day at work, I passed by a window long enough to watch an Anna's Hummingbird climbing straight up into the sky before diving down in the classic swooping courtship display.

Any ideas on why this would be happening this time of year? Is he just practicing? Or trying to attract a female ahead of the spring rush?
