Hello,

This morning I found a male RED BREASTED MERGANSER on the Kalispell Indian
Reservation. It was seen with some Common Merganser along the edge of the
ice scoping across the river from the Manreesa Grotto. Mathew Moswick found
one earlier this spring. This is a county lifer for me, a code 5 bird.

There is a large - huge - Athya flock at this location as well, made up of
mostly Redheads, but there are actually a good number of Lesser and GREATER
(100 +) Scaup, a few Ring necked, and four Canvasbacks. American Wigeon are
in the flock as well.

I also saw a Northern Pygmy Owl, but not among the ducks!

Merry Christmas
