Joseph Brown and I are out at the coast for a few days, and today we explored the Kalaloch area. We saw a few interesting things in addition to the expected:

South Beach
1 Western Meadowlark
1 Hermit Thrush
1 dead Cassin's Auklet, not very fresh

Beach 4
Another dead Cassin's Auklet
Flock of 180-200 Surfbird roosting at the base of a sea stack at high tide

Is there any sort of CBC going on out here this week? If so, we would love to add our sightings to the count.

We also found a very weird pink invertebrate or piece of an invertebrate on the beach. I have no idea what it was. If any of you would like to try to help identify it, please contact me and I will send a description.
