Dear Tweeters,
I took a quick, pre-snow trip down to the Greenway/Poppoff Trail area in Yakima (Exit 36 on I-82). It took about an hour of waiting at the Sparrow feeding area (north along the paved Greenway path from the exit 36 entrance), but the Harris? Sparrow appeared just before 1PM for about 5 minutes. There were plenty of Sparrows to sort through, so the wait was interesting.

Also present were at least three White-throated Sparrows, one white-striped, one tan-striped, and immature White-throated Sparrow with tan head striping, faint streaking on the flanks and less brilliant white throat. I only saw, at most, two White-throated Sparrows at the same time, but the differences between the individuals convinced me that there were more than two. Other birds of note include a lone Hermit Thrush, and all of the American Robins that have left Ellensburg (I?ve seen no American Robins in Ellensburg this December!).
