Tweeters,
My wife told me that she had seen (12/28) about four white geese from I-90, in the fields just east of the Bar 14 Ranch House (exit 109 on I-90). The geese were mixed in with a large flock of Canada Geese. I headed out today (12/29) to see if I could relocate them. I finally ran into them at Tjossem Pond (Berry Rd. east of Canyon Rd. and south of I-90) at around 1PM today. The four geese flew in and made themselves comfortable with the rest of the Canada Geese and four Trumpeter Swans. The geese were all white with black primaries, had normal (proportionally sized) pink bills with prominent grin patches (eliminating Ross?s Goose) and pinkish feet and legs. The birds were similar in size to the nearby Canada Geese. One of the Snow Geese was dusky all over, suggesting that it?s an immature bird. There were very few other birds, and the strong east wind and cold temperature made it difficult to stay outside for more than 15 minutes.

Cheers,
