Tweets, MacIntosh Lake east of Tenino hosted a good variety of 14 waterfowl on Saturday, including 8 TRUMPETER SWANS (a personal first), CANVASBACK (unusual), both SCAUP and WIGEON. A pair of CROSSBILLS, the first I've seen since late summer, responded to pishing as if on territory. A surprising 52 species for the afternoon. Good birding!
