Dear Tweeters,

Yesterday (1 February 2014) there were two Swamp Sparrows at the Fir Island Game Range. One was near the big parking area; the other was along the big new dike. I also saw one Fox, one Savannah, one Golden-crowned, several Lincoln's, and a lot of Song Sparrows there. An adult Northern Shrike was hunting?along the big new dike; an immature Northern Shrike was at?Jensen Access a few minutes later. At?Jensen I also saw the first decent-sized flock of shorebirds I've come across?lately, about a thousand Dunlin and twenty Black-bellied Plover.
