It has been quite an interesting time here in Lewis County over the last two weeks. Two birds have been added to the county list since Jan 26 a BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE and an ICELAND GULL. There have been two other code 5s seen this week a GLAUCIOUS GULL and a BLACK PHOEBE. We have also had a Code 4 GREAT EGRET hanging around. I saw it last at Fort Borst Park in Centralia. It has been around for at least two weeks. I was able to get the ICELAND GULL yesterday In Borst Park. I have dipped on the GLAUCOUS GULL and BLACK PHOEBE. I expect the phoebe is still around. I am seriously thinking of breaking out the canoe and going down the slew where it was seen. It is an Oxbow Lake that used to be a channel of the Chehalis River. The slew is almost a mile long.

Cheers and good birding
