A turf war has erupted at Marina Park in Edmonds as a street gang of 3-4 juvie bald eagles has muscled into the territory of the Pt. Edwards resident adult pair.? Marina Park regulars have seen the juvies hanging out in trees along Pt. Edwards opposite the off leash dog park waiting for one of the adults to fly in from the Sound with a fish and land on the piling off Marina Park.? After the adult has landed, the juvies will fly over and try to steal the fish.?? Intimidation tactics include strafings and body slams.

The adults are not giving up their territory or their fish without a fight.? An adult under siege will screech for its mate to fly in and join the forray.? Friday afternoon both adults were seen going after one of the juvies perched in a tree.? The adults appeared to use tag team tactics and approached the juvie from different directions.

Some of Thursday's action was captured by a Tweetster (not me) and posted up on the Pacific Northwest Photography forum.
