Hello everyone,

I am planning a trip to your lovely state in may and I would love a bit of
info on some of my target species as well as any additional info you think
would be helpful to my trip.

our game plan is to be there from may 15th to the 23rd and
a tentative itinerary is as follows:
Land in Seattle, spend a day there.
head east to the cascades and bird as far east as Wenatchee and Ellensburg
for three days
then north to Victoria island and go for skylark
after that spend three days on the Olympic peninsula
finally fly out of Seattle

First my Target list: these are some birds I am not certain where to look
or if there are specific locations where they are easier than others.

Ross's Goose (I assume anywhere geese generally congregate, i.e. ponds,
fields, etc)
Mountain and California Quails (we will be going to Olympic national park
and hiking the hurricane ridge, is this a good spot?
Chukar (same as quails?)
White tailed Ptarmigan(same as quails?
Sooty and Dusky Grouse(Same as Quails)
Golden Eagle (game plan for this bird is to just constantly look up)
Black Oystercatcher (we will be spending some time on the coast near
flattery rocks, keep an eye out there?)
Wandering Tattler (same as BLOY?)

As for the nocturnal birds, any locations they are easy during the day?
Barn Owl
Western Screech Owl
Northern Pygmy Owl
Common Poorwill

Any specific spots these woodpeckers would be easier than others?
Lewis's woodpecker
White-headed Woodpecker
American Three-toed Woodpecker
Williamson's Sapsucker
Red-naped Sapsucker
Red-breasted Sapsucker

We have purple finches in NH (state bird and all) anywhere purple could be
eliminated based on location or should I really study up on my purple vs.
cassin's
Cassin's Finch
Gray-crowned Rosy Finch (long shot I think but I would love to see this
bird)

Lastly,
I would love to see some of the west coast pelagics, but I can't afford a
boat trip out there. What is the likelihood of seeing any of the pelagics
from shore with a scope?

Thanks for any help you all can provide and I look forward to visiting your
fine state!
