I reported earlier seeing the Emperor Goose west
of Knapp Road just off HWY 201 (Thank you John
Gatchet!!). Originally seen at 11:15 to 11:45 and
it was there (but now in open field closer to but
still West of Knapp Road when I returned around
3:00). My Goose question however relates to one
of the Canada Geese also present. It was very
dark, dead on for what in Sibley is shown as a
Dusky Canada. Perhaps I have seen them many times
and not processed until today when my
concentration was to find "the different goose"
being the Emperor. So I wondere are Dusky Canada
geese common here; generally in mixed flocks; what
is their story? Anything else of interest to
tweeterland? I probably have just been dense and
seen many and not noticed, but am glad to have it
register today at least.

Other nice birds today were a single Black
Oystercatcher at John Wayne Marina (along with a
Harlequin), a flock of at least 20 Long Tailed
Ducks at 3 Crabs and FINALLY the Harris's Sparrow
also at 3 Crabs area (near the feeder house).

And it was 50 degrees and sunny!!
