I frequently see these two critters during the summer in the subalpine zone of the Olympic Mountains. I expect to see Pine Siskins at my Seattle home during the winter, but I'm not seeing them this winter. I don't expect to see Long-toed Salamanders, but there was one walking across my living room last night. So, my questions are these: Where did the Pine Siskins go this winter? British Columbia? Colorado??Are Long-toed Salamanders common in Seattle? Why was one in my house?
