With the return of the Emperor Goose, I decided that I'd set out to better
my Clallam County Waterfowl Challenge total of 25, which I achieved on
01/31/2014. Today, 02/14/2014, I managed to find 27 species of geese, swans
and ducks all in Clallam County. I didn't make an effort to do a Big Day
which would have included raptors, passerines, etc. but I still saw 76
species total. Of the non-waterfowl species seen today, the best bird was a
continuing Northern Shrike which I found and photographed on Hogback Rd.
several days ago. Northern Shrikes have been scare this winter in Clallam
County. As for the waterfowl, I was unable to locate Greater White-fronted
Goose and Snow Goose, Tundra Swan, Wood Duck and Black Scoter but I did see
the following 27 species:

Emperor Goose
Brant
Cackling Goose
Canada Goose
Trumpeter Swan
Gadwall
Eurasian Wigeon
American Wigeon
Mallard
Northern Shoveler
Northern Pintail
Green-winged Teal
Canvasback
Ring-necked Duck
Greater Scaup
Lesser Scaup
Harlequin Duck
Surf Scoter
White-winged Scoter
Long-tailed Duck
Bufflehead
Common Goldeneye
Barrow's Goldeneye
Hooded Merganser
Common Merganser
Red-breasted Merganser
Ruddy Duck

I can provide exact locations to any/all of these species if anyone wants
them.
