Hi Tweets,
I browsed at Narbeck in Everett today and was delighted to encounter a small flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers, the first for me this year, at the North end of the boardwalk. Sorry, too novice with them still to distinguish between Audubon's and Myrtle in the pictures I took. Also lots of Golden-crowned Kinglets and Black-capped Chickadees high up in the trees enjoying the catkins. I didn't note any other warblers but had limited time to scan individual birds.
The Yellow-rumpeds were a thrill to see, matching the thrill of the Varied Thrush I encountered there a few weeks ago, with the replacement signaling the change in seasons. Incidentally, I've been wondering if anyone has info. on any recent changes at Narbeck? The first/main pond seems rather fuller than it used to be and I'm just wondering what the reason may be.
Hoping to see the Wood Ducks there again soon; it doesn't seem the same without them there. Just a pair of Canada Geese and a Pied-billed Grebe on the main pond today.
