The water is higher in all of the ponds due to the rain over the last couple
of weeks. It also looks like the beavers have been busy and have shored up
their workings under the board walk just before the viewing area to the main
pond. I did find one Myrtle in the several small groups of Audubon's today.
Below is a link to the eBird hotspot for Narbeck. Using it you can see the
bar chart showing the seasonal changes although the data is still sparse.
Narbeck is a pretty nice lunch time get away for those of us who work in the
area.

Subject: [Tweeters] Early Spring at Narbeck Wetland Sanctuary



Hi Tweets,



I browsed at Narbeck in Everett today and was delighted to encounter a small
flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers, the first for me this year, at the North
end of the boardwalk. Sorry, too novice with them still to distinguish
between Audubon's and Myrtle in the pictures I took. Also lots of
Golden-crowned Kinglets and Black-capped Chickadees high up in the trees
enjoying the catkins. I didn't note any other warblers but had limited time
to scan individual birds.



The Yellow-rumpeds were a thrill to see, matching the thrill of the Varied
Thrush I encountered there a few weeks ago, with the replacement signaling
the change in seasons.



Incidentally, I've been wondering if anyone has info. on any recent changes
at Narbeck? The first/main pond seems rather fuller than it used to be and
I'm just wondering what the reason may be.



Hoping to see the Wood Ducks there again soon; it doesn't seem the same
without them there. Just a pair of Canada Geese and a Pied-billed Grebe on
the main pond today.
