Subject: [Tweeters] Snohomish Gyr Scene - 2/27/14

Looked for the Gyrfalcon from 3:45 - 4:45 p.m at it's current favorite spot (at the end of 103rd, off of 115th), near the wrecking yard. It had been seen an hour or 2 earlier, but even with scopes, the 2 couples and I who were looking, only saw swans, lots of eagles, a few redtails and scads of starlings (blackbirds?) - and I saw one Anna's Hummingbird ! I'll try again, but now that I've gotten plenty of 'sunset' shots, I'll just go for the watching, earlier in the day than I usually have gone there.

To see the scene yesterday, at that spot as well as south of there, from Old Sno-Monroe Rd., give this a click - the tree it was in yesterday is the tallest cottonwood in the small group of trees featured in many of these photos:
