Hi Tweeters,

After a stop at Northrup Point where I found 20 WILD TURKEYS in the picnic
area where they are apparently regular, I headed south and saw 10 TUNDRA
SWANS about 0.75 miles north of the entrance to Steamboat Rock State Park.

Continuing south about the same distance south of the state park entrance
road I saw what i Thought was a Male RED-BREASTED MERGANSER. Finding a pull
out on the east side of the highway I crossed the road and looked back with
bins and there were 6 birds - 3 of each sex. These RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS
were so close to the highway that the guard rail had blocked my view of
them while driving.
