A gorgeous day at the park and a park bird for me: PALM WARBLER. Foraging high in the bare cottonwoods with several Yellow-rumped Warblers, it presented the classic bobbing tail and showed well the bright yellow vent and pale supercilium. It never got close enough for a decent photo and the group kept moving farther away, eventually disappearing from view.

Other notables included:
Eurasian Wigeon - Entrance Pond with dozens of American Wigeon
Herring Gull - 2 on the swim platform with slews of Mews and a few Ring-billed and Glaucous-winged Gulls.
Western Grebe - several dozen, most due east of swim beach
Cooper?s Hawk - flying only 20 feet off ground through the central meadows and woods
Virginia Rail - kiddicking in the marsh near Field 6
Anna?s Hummingbird - at least 2 in nest-building mode; one gathering gossamer: http://youtu.be/szBg85L70lQ
Violet-green Swallow - one bird over the wetlands
Brown Creeper, Fox Sparrow and many Ruby-crowned Kinglets were all in full song

For the day, 59 species; with WCSP, VGSW and PAWA new, 76 for the year.
