Tweets,
Just got back from the Skagit Bay CBC, where we had a Harris? Sparrow on Norman Rd., a new county bird for us amongst many of ?the usuals.? It was located at the farm that typically has loads of blackbirds (which it did), the one that has the concrete structure with old tires piled on it. There was a telephone post there marked ?215X? and the sparrow was on a fence in back of the muddy area off the road, left (west) of the barn. The 3 of us had great views, which was a maturing first winter bird.

We had a 5 woodpecker day, but missed shorebirds and some of the usual farm-pond dabblers, as the fields were unusually dry in the Stilli Valley this year. The HASP was, by far, the best bird of the day, though there was one other on the count found by Brien Meilleur?s group.

Happy New Year, all.
