Subject: [Tweeters] 2013 Big Year Results

2013 turned out to be a much bigger year than my initial goals. I set a goal
at the beginning of the year to see 200 bird species in King Co and 300 in
WA State. I knew it was going to be ambitious but my thought was if I set
this goal it would help me apply a lot of the things I was learning in the
SAS Master Birder Program. My life list for WA prior to 2013 was only 246
so I needed to get at least 60 WA life birds in one year which I felt was a
bit daunting.

I ended the year with totals of:

King Co 212 species

WA State 340 species

To hit this 340 I ended up adding 103 new species to my WA life list.

The list of people that helped me along the year is quite a lengthy one,
from people I already knew to complete strangers. The tweeters group of
people is a very friendly and sharing bunch and I am very appreciative of
that.

I took a bunch of photos throughout the year and have selected 30 of my
favorites that some of you might enjoy:

Thank you all for your postings, sharing and friendliness.

Happy New Year and Happy Birding.
