Subject: [Tweeters] Gyrfalcon - Snohomish - Close views and pics

I arrived in the general area the Gyrfalcon had been seen and Russ
Koppendrayer had it lined up in a scope in a distant tree of which he had
just seen it fly to. That was an easy tick but I was hoping for some decent
photos. We drove down the road to a close place to the tree and had some
better views. Then the bird flew to a tree right next to the road at a large
farm house at approximately 12339 Old Snohomish Monroe Rd. Someone coming
out of the driveway told me the place was a duck hunting lodge. Perfect spot
for a Gyr. A couple neighbors from the other side of the street came out and
one said he had seen that bird for a week or more and had thought it was a
Peregrine. The bird hung around for 20 minutes or so in the tree and then
flew East down the road and posted up on the top of a fir tree.
