Tweeters!
Today's (Saturday) sunny weather in Kalama brought out three female ANNA'S
HUMMINGBIRDS who repeatedly fought over the one nectar feeder on our front
porch for hours on end.
We had a hatch-year male Anna's that overwintered here along with two
females. Those females disappeared after the cold snap we had in Kalama the
first week of December. I've kept the feeder filled with fresh, thawed
nectar all year. A lone adult male has been singing quite vigorously this
past week from a Douglas Fir in our front yard. I guess he finally got an
answer today!
