Two WHWP's were observed ~2 PM Jan 4 and 8:30 AM Jan 5 in the Suncadia
Resort, Cle Elum, at the junction of Coal Mine Way and Tipple Hill Loop.
This area is adjacent to the new Rope Rider Golf Course where holes 4, 5,
and 7 come together. The cart path crosses the Coal Mine Way and the WHWP's
were observed on both sides of Coal Mine. Also observed both days were a
flock of ~20 Pygmy Nuthatches high in the Ponderosa Pines as well a nice
flock of Mountain Chickadees on Saturday. The birds seemed to be attracted
by numerous feeders in the backyard of the house nearest the intersection.
A number of more common winter species were also seen.
