I have tried for years to get a good Belted Kingfisher photograph, but these birds tend to be skittish. This year I tried something new: I attached a CamRanger unit to my camera and set it up remotely on a tripod. The CamRanger creates a wireless network that allows the photographer to control some of the camera's functions remotely, including exposure and focus, when connected to a computer, iPad, or smartphone. In my case I used my laptop.
