Hi Tweeters,

This morning (1/18/14) Anne Kahle and I were able to find the LONG-TAILED
DUCK in Horsethief Lake at Columbia Hills State Park that was reported by
Stuart Johnston on eBird. We scoped it for about 10 minutes as it worked
its way from east to west along the railroad grade on the south end of the
lake. It was diving regularly. The park is closed for the winter and we
scoped from a large pullout along the highway.

Apparently this Klickitat County code 5 species was first found by a WDFW
waterfowl survey on 1/7 and later seen by Stuart on 1/15.
