Hi Dennis and Tweets

We had a Song Sparrow start giving partial songs about two weeks ago (along
with trying to drive the "intruder" in our car rear view mirrors off). By
about a week ago he was in full song. Like Dennis, it seems puzzling that
the hormones were raging. We have had some American Robins also starting to
sing. We are a five hundred feet on Hollywood Hill in Woodinville, but like
the valley have mostly been in fog.

Subject: [Tweeters] spring has sprung?

Hello, tweets.

A Song Sparrow has been singing persistently in our yard for the last two
days, starting while it was still cold and foggy. How could it have got
enough daylight to start those hormones raging?

On the down side, although still indicative of spring, the 2-4 Varied
Thrushes we have had in our yard since mid November have all gone. I don't
recall wintering individuals of this species leaving our yard this early
ever. Do they know something we don't?
