As drove past the heronry today I noticed an eagle.

I pulled into the park-n-ride for a better look.

I don't want to impute evil intentions to the eagle, but it sure looked like he was plotting how he could raid the nests once the herons lay their eggs. The herons usually return the first week of February.

In the wide angle view the eagle is the tiny dot in the cottonwood on the left .
