Hi Tweets.

Spent some time today looking for the Thick-billed Murre. I spent most of
my time from the end of the spit next to the boat ramp: 9:00-11:00 and
1:30-2:30. The lighting south of the spit (into the harbor) was too bright
so I drove back into Port Angeles and scoped from the sidewalk where N Oak
St meets the water. After scrutinizing every flock of murre, I finally
found the THICK-BILLED MURRE by itself around 3:00. It was floating west
past the boat dock on Ediz Hook (diving periodically) but chances are the
lighting was still bad from that location.

Other highlights include 109 MARBLED MURRELETS, 24 COMMON MURRE, 11
HARLEQUIN DUCKS, a pair of LONG-TAILED DUCKS, and two RUDDY TURNSTONES with
a flock of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, SANDERLING, and one DUNLIN roosting on
the beach.

The mammal highlight was watching a California Sea Lion eating an octopus.
