Subject: [Tweeters] WA Birder 2013 List Reporting - appeal to ebirders too!

Hi all -
Just to throw in an opinion, I'd encourage eBirders to join in with the WA Birder annual list report -- eBird has been an amazing new tool on the scene, and it provides great information about the birds in our state. But when it comes to summarizing how everyone is doing with their own lists around Washington it still has a lot of holes.
Too many people are not [yet?] using eBird to report their sightings [guilty], and a lot of active eBirders have not entered their historical records in to their accounts -- so their historical totals are just a shadow of their real life list.
Looking at last year's WA Birder state life list report, only 5 of the top 25 WA Life Lists show up on the eBird WA life list totals. And only 5 of the top 10 eBird life list totals are on the WA Birder tally.
I think of the WA Birder annual tally as a sort of annual coming together of one aspect of the birder community [that part of our personalities that lists]-- eBird's "Top 100" pages do something similar, but because they are live and constantly updated, there's no annual 'check-in' to sum up how things have been going.
eBird makes it easy to figure out your annual lists for the WA Birder form, so I'd encourage everyone to take a few minutes to join in the annual tradition.
