Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird report. This report
was made Thursday January 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

On January 27 a male TUFTED DUCK and a EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL were
photographed at the Fernhill wetlands. The Newport KING EIDER, Ankeny NWR
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER, Coos Bay PAINTED BUNTING, and the Norway
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW continue to be seen The Coquiile BROWN THRASHER was
seen again January 25. The LaGrande RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER and the Joseph
GYRFALCON also continue.

During the week reports increased for WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, TURKEY VULTURES,
and TREE SWALLOWS indicating possible early movements.

On January 24 three ROCK SANDPIPERS were on Barview Jetty at Tillamook Bay.
An AMERICAN TREE SPARROW was seen January 29 at the Scappoose Sewage Ponds.
A GOSHAWK was at the North Unit of Sauvie Island January 25. That day a
group of 270 SANDHILL CRANES were seen on the Island. A BRANT was on the
Island January 26. Single TOWNSEND?S SOLITAIRES were seen during the week on
the OSU campus in Corvallis and at the EE Wilson SWA. A ROSS?S GOOSE is now
at Baskett Slough NWR and two are at Ankeny NWR. Two BRANT are now at Finley
NWR.

On January 24 a PINE GROSBEAK was at Moss Springs Campground east of Cove
and three were along McCully Creek near Joseph.
