Hi folks,

Well, in the cold, gray light of dawn (OK, it was 8 a.m.), and with a look through Chris' scope, the Clark's Grebe had overnight magically transmorgrafied itself into a Western Grebe.

The bill still appeared to me to be more orange-yellow than yellow-green, but it was within 100 meters of shore at the north end of the reservoir, and well-lighted by the mid-morning 'sun'. I could see that the dark cap clearly extended "to or below" the eye line.

Many thanks to Chris & all for following up my Tweeters post from last night. I'd apologize for a "wild grebe chase", but you just never know until you look. . . . sometimes twice.

Cheers,
Jon. Anderson
