Welcome to the area, Antoinette!

Lesser Goldfinches can be seen in various parts of Clark County, but they
are highly localized - what a treat to have one in your backyard.

Your RUSTY BLACKBIRD sighting is noteworthy -- finding this bird in
southwest Washington can be quite difficult, especially this time of year.

There is a comprehensive Clark County checklist online at
http://www.wabirder.com/docs/Clark_list.pdf

In addition to Tweeters, there is a listserv that covers just the
Portland/Vancouver metro area -- details at
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/portland-area-birds

Also, if you haven't already discovered them, Vancouver Audubon Society has
periodic meetings that are a great way to learn more about local bird life
and meet fellow birders. They are an extremely friendly, welcoming group of
people.

Scott
