Hi all -
We're in the midst of a WOS trip on the San Juans [full report once home] -- but for now:
This morning at around 11:00, we heard the song of an OVENBIRD at English Camp on San Juan Island.
We never saw the bird, but heard it quite well over the course of an hour -- it would sing a couple times, then go silent -- Michael Hobbs was able to hear it give some alternate vocalizations as well, so though we didn't see the bird we're feeling pretty confident.

We'll be trying briefly again tomorrow and will report in, but in case anyone is on the island already, I wanted to get word out.

Directions if here:

Location: English Camp -- First heard on the trail that heads up towards the road [en route to the Cemetery & Young Hill] -- it was first heard left of the trail [as you head towards the road from the lot], then moved right of the trail quite a ways -- it seemed to settle in within hearing range of the parking lot, back in the woods a bit -- there's a small trail off the corner of the parking lot [if you said the trail down to the lawn/water was due west, and the trail to Young Hill was in the north east corner of the lot , this would be a trail off the southeast corner of the lot].

Song given most of the time was the classic 'Teacher teacher teacher' song with an increase in volume along the way.
