Three of us took a rescheduled WOS trip to JBLM, visiting some usual haunts.
Great weather, and some great looks at birds. Highlights included great
views of LAZULI BUNTINGS at OP8, as well as a brilliant male MACGILLIVRAY'S
WARBLER perching on a wild rose shrub (in bloom) at the same site. In
addition, as noted below, two nests were found - WARBLING VIREO and WILLOW
FLYCATCHER.

McChord (JBLM) (Lewis) via Roy; Chambers Lake; Brandenburg Marsh; Muck Creek
Bridge; Training Area (TA) 5; Observation Post (OP) 8; TA 4 - unpaved road
paralleling 2nd Div Range Road almost as far as ORV staging area; back along
Range Road to East Gate Road; 8th Ave S to Rice Kandle Road; across TA 13;
8th Ave S to 288th St S; and back to Avian Acres. Weather mostly sunny, with
temp starting at 44degF in morning and up to 76degF by mid-afternoon.
Traveled by car - stopped at likely birding spots along route.

heard along road from BrM to MCB

foraging on ground for nearly 5 mins as we watched; at TA4 a female was seen
