On Saturday I went out on the Westport Seabirds Pelagic Trip.

The trip was nearly canceled on the previous day due to weather forecasts of
winds 15-18 knots and swells of 7-8 feet on 8 second intervals. Translation
is that would be rough. We all showed up at 5:15 am and things had calmed
down a bit from the forecast but it still looked a bit dicey. Captain Phil
thought it was worth a try.

The trip ended up being a bit rough but not too bad. Had had good numbers of
some birds but certain migrants were absent - no Jaegers and only a couple
really distant Phalaropes. However the birds we did see were in good numbers
and I was fortunate enough to get a few photos.

Here are some of the best shots from the trip.
