We set a couple of beer traps at the end of last week in our vegetable
garden to stop the slugs from eating everything. It worked so-so, catching
only a few small slugs and a couple of beetles the first time I checked, and
I thought how few that was at the time. I was expecting at least 20 or so
the first night. This morning I caught a couple of crows cleaning out both
traps systematically, and then they moved on to the strawberry bed! Mmm,
beer, pickled slug and a side of strawberry for breakfast, and on a weekday
no less!
