Hi Paul,
My boys and I enjoy the Larkwire Birdsong Master Birder app available at the
iTunes app store. It works like a quiz game and plays groups of similar
sounding songs and calls so that you can compare and contrast them quickly
and easily. It keeps track of your progress and adds complexity (more
sounds/species to choose from) as you get better at differentiating between
species. You can also pick a specific species to listen to, and each one
has several recordings taken in different locations. We have spent fun
hours playing the game and I would highly recommend it.

Tweets, People ask about apps and other technology to learn bird ID by both
sight and sound. Please educate me -- what resources do you recommend for
birding by ear: apps, websites, recordings/CDs, tutorials, books, etc? Thank
you!
